DrawAlong

Hi, we're DrawAlong

DrawAlong started at a kitchen table, teaching kids to draw the old-fashioned way: one line at a time. “Draw a big circle. Now two pointy ears. Now a curvy tail.”

As a designer, I'd spent years making complicated things feel simple. But the most striking design lesson came from those drawing sessions: the moment a child believes the drawing will work out, everything changes. They lean in. They focus. They ask for the next line before you've finished describing it.

And the opposite is just as true. One drawing that “goes wrong” and the pencil goes down, sometimes for years. Ask any adult who says they can't draw when they decided that. Most will name an age under ten.

So DrawAlong is built around one promise: the drawing always works out. We break every picture into small, achievable lines. We check each stroke with generous, kid-sized tolerance. We snap accepted lines in clean, so effort is always rewarded with a result worth taping to the fridge. And when a line misses, the only response is a warm “try again,” because that's what a good teacher would say.

Our mission is simple: a generation of kids who never decide they can't draw.

Every DrawAlong drawing is designed to be finishable by a five-year-old, and to look good enough that they want to show everyone.
