Draw Shapes

Shapes are the alphabet of drawing: nearly everything kids sketch is built from circles, triangles, and squares. This set covers eight of them, from circle, square, and triangle through rectangle, oval, diamond, star, and heart, making it a natural pick for shapes for preschoolers. It builds pencil control along with the shape vocabulary that early math and pre-writing both lean on.

Each shape is drawn big, one at a time, with the screen zoomed in so there is plenty of room. Is this right for a 3 year old?

Threes can enjoy it with a grown-up nearby, starting with the circle and square. Most kids handle the full set independently around 4 or 5, with the star and heart as the satisfying final challenges.

How long does the whole set take?

About ten minutes of drawing for most kids, plus however long they want to spend coloring. It is short enough for a preschool center rotation and easy to pick up again later, since progress goes one shape at a time.
