Draw a Snake Online: One Big Slither, Zero Mess
The snake is the drawing we hand to brand-new artists, because the whole animal is one glorious bendy line. Kids draw a snake online right in the browser, watch it slither across the screen like a giant letter S, color it with taps instead of markers, then sign it and save it for the fridge or the family group chat. It is quick, it is silly, and it always looks like a snake.
DrawAlong's guided flow shows one line at a time and checks every stroke as it goes. First the big S-shaped body with its round head, then a tummy line that follows all the bends, a happy eye and smile, a forked tongue in two tiny flicks, and four stripes spaced along the back. Ten small steps, and the stripes at the end give the coloring stage a head start.
As a snake drawing for kids aged 4 to 8, this is our beginner pick and a favorite confidence builder before bigger animals like the monkey or unicorn. There are no legs, no paws and no fiddly corners, so wobbly lines just look like slithering, and kids often add grass, rocks or a second little snake friend freehand afterward.
- Is the snake the easiest drawing on DrawAlong?
- It is one of the very easiest, which is why it is rated beginner. The body is a single bendy line and everything after that is small and simple, so it makes a great first drawing before moving up to animals with legs.
- How long does the snake drawing take?
- About four minutes for the ten guided steps, since most of them are quick stripes and face details. With coloring, plan on eight to ten happy minutes total.
- Are the snake steps scary for kids who dislike snakes?
- Not this one. It has a big round eye, a cheerful smile and a goofy forked tongue, so it reads as a cartoon buddy rather than anything slithery from a nature documentary. Nervous kids usually end up naming it.
